Terms of Service

Welcome to the Go Verify portal, the official Digital Teller Verification & Receipt Management System (DTVRMS) for Godfrey Okoye University. By registering for an account, uploading documents, or accessing this system, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service.

1. Description of Service

The Go Verify portal is a web-based platform that allows students to upload digital proofs of payment (bank tellers, bank statements, or electronic tellers), enables Bursary staff to verify these payments, and automatically generates official university digital receipts.
Please note: This system does not replace the school’s official payment process. You must still make your financial payments at designated banks before using this portal to claim your receipt.

2. User Accounts and Security

• Registration: To use the portal, students and staff must register using accurate information, including their full name, email, and Registration Number (for students) or Department (for staff).
• Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials. Any activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility.
• Role-Based Access: Access to verification and approval tools is strictly limited to authorized Bursary staff and administration. Unauthorized attempts to access staff privileges will result in immediate account suspension and disciplinary action.

3. Student Responsibilities & Document Uploads

When submitting proofs of payment via the Go Verify portal, students agree to the following:

• Accuracy: You must provide accurate payment details, including the payment purpose, exact amount paid, and transaction date.
• Image Clarity: You are responsible for uploading clear and legible images of your signed bank tellers or statements. The system and staff cannot verify unclear, blurry, or cropped images.
• Fraud Prevention: Uploading altered, forged, or fake teller images is strictly prohibited. The system enforces data integrity to prevent duplicate teller submissions. Any attempt to submit fraudulent payment proofs is a severe violation of university rules and will be reported to the university administration for disciplinary action.

4. Verification and Receipt Issuance

• Manual Verification: Uploading a teller does not constitute automatic approval of your payment. Because handwritten signatures and altered tellers cannot be automatically verified by the software, all submissions are subject to manual review by the Bursary staff.
• Digital Receipts: Upon staff approval, the system will automatically generate an official digital receipt containing a unique receipt ID and a secure QR code. This QR code serves as your definitive proof of authenticity for exam invigilators and security personnel.
• Smart Clearance:The system automatically tracks your approved receipts. "Smart Clearance" certificates are generated only when your accumulated, approved payments meet the exact thresholds set by the university for your academic level and semester.

5. Staff Responsibilities

Authorized university staff using the Go Verify portal agree to:

• Diligently review uploaded images against official bank printouts before taking action.
• Utilize the system purely for official university business.
• Understand that all verification actions (approvals and rejections) are permanently logged in the system's audit trail with a timestamp and the respective Staff ID.

6. System Limitations and Availability

While we strive to ensure 99% uptime during school hours, Godfrey Okoye University does not guarantee that the Go Verify portal will be uninterrupted or error-free. The system may occasionally undergo maintenance. In the event of network or storage issues.

7. Dispute Resolution

If your uploaded teller is marked as "Rejected" and you believe this is an error, you must utilize the internal support channels provided on your dashboard or contact the Bursary department directly.

8. Modifications to the Terms

Godfrey Okoye University reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effectively communicated via the portal dashboard or through official university email channels. Continued use of the portal after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.
